What a Local Certified Valuer Gives an Adelaide Owner

What changes when your valuer works from Leigh Street rather than sending you a template report

Certified Business Valuers on Leigh Street, Adelaide

A valuer who knows how South Australian businesses actually change hands, how RevenueSA approaches stamp duty and payroll tax, and what the state's courts expect from an expert, and who can meet you in person in the CBD.

From A$799, With Certified Reports From Seven Business Days

You see the price and the steps before you commit. When we have your information, certified Summary and Detailed reports follow from seven business days.

The Right Report for a Sale, the ATO, Financial Reporting & SMSF Loans

Every purpose maps to one of the three report types. We tell you which on the first call rather than steering you to the dearest one.

Understand How the Number Was Reached

The closing call covers the approaches, the adjustments and how they were reconciled, so you can answer anyone who asks where the figure came from.

Written for the ATO and RevenueSA

Prepared under APES 225 and the ATO's market valuation guidelines, and set out to withstand review by the ATO, RevenueSA and your auditor.

Choose the Service That Matches Your Purpose

Frequently Asked Questions for a Business Valuation

An independent, reasoned opinion of what a business or a parcel of shares is worth at a particular date, built from the income, market and asset approaches and reconciled into one conclusion that can be supported.
Yes, if the figure will be tested by the Supreme Court of South Australia, the ATO, RevenueSA, a lender or an opposing expert. For a private planning figure, an Indicative report is enough; it is for internal decision-making and is not a certified opinion for third parties.
In many cases, where the report is obtained for an income-producing purpose or in connection with a CGT event. Your tax adviser should confirm how the rules apply to your situation.
Usually, for a sale, a partner joining, an employee share scheme, a finance application or an SMSF audit: situations where other people see the figure but are unlikely to contest it in court.
Software can run a formula, but it cannot decide how to normalise the earnings, how much risk to price in or which comparable sales matter, and no lender or court relies on an unsigned printout. Each of our reports is prepared by a person, and each certified report is signed by a certified valuer.
In most cases a Detailed report. The Supreme Court and District Court of South Australia apply the court's expert evidence rules under the Uniform Civil Rules 2020 (SA), and the Federal Circuit and Family Court has its own rules for experts in family law matters; each expects the full reasoning on paper. Where a matter is likely to settle at mediation, a Summary report may do, and we say so on the first call. Smaller disputes before the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal are scoped case by case.
It backs the decision that prompted it: fixing a sale price, settling a dispute, responding to the ATO or RevenueSA, satisfying an auditor, or agreeing terms with a partner or investor.
APES 225 Valuation Services is the principal Australian standard. The International Valuation Standards apply where cross-border comparability matters, and the ATO's market valuation guidelines govern any figure with a tax consequence.
The signatory is a CFA charterholder who also holds the ABV and CBV designations, with more than 15 years across valuation, transactions and expert evidence. No certified report goes out without a certified valuer's signature.
An APES 225 opinion signed by a credentialed valuer, recording the purpose, the evidence, the adjustments and the reasoning so that a court, the ATO, a lender or a counterparty can rely on it.
At 28 Leigh Street in the Adelaide CBD. We act for owners across Greater Adelaide, the Adelaide Hills and regional South Australia, including the Barossa, McLaren Vale and Clare Valley wine regions, and take on engagements elsewhere in Australia by video.
